How to Change Your VOIP Phone Numbers
A VoIP (Voicemail Over IP) phone number refers to the unique number assigned to you whenever you sign up for a VOIP (Voice over IP) service. It is essentially the series of digits that you input into a toll free or local toll line to make an outgoing call, like with traditional landline phones.
But unlike its earlier counterpart, a VOIP phone number can also be called from virtually any internet-capable device, including a laptop, desktop, tablet… No longer limited to one type of internet connection, you can call anyone you want with just one number. In addition, you can keep the phone line open while talking on your laptop, and you do not have to worry about the connection going down.
For example, you may want to keep an extra phone line set up just in case the phone lines at your home go down, or if you or a family member gets injured or in a vehicle accident. But what if you cannot keep one line open? You are left with a huge mess to clean up. What if you want to make a phone call to your children, but your home phone line goes down?
So you need to be careful with your VoIP numbers. You may want to keep them on hand, but you want to have a backup in the event of an emergency. For example, if you need to send out an emergency email to all of your subscribers, then you want to be able to reach the number for them easily. You may also want to keep your number on hand if you have a business conference set up.
And in the case that you lose a call from a customer via your VOIP service, you also want to be able to contact them easily. Even if you have a backup in the event of a power outage, chances are you will need to contact them in order to resolve the problem. This can often be a very important feature if the problem is due to a hardware failure.
If you use your VOIP numbers for an extended period of time, you may find yourself getting quite tired of the numbers. Once upon a time, you might have been using the same number for many years, but you are no longer calling it.
If this happens, you can get rid of your number entirely by purchasing a new VOIP phone. and you won’t have to worry about having to keep it with you.
You can easily change your VOIP phone numbers by just replacing the SIM card, plugging it into the computer, and entering a new number. That’s it! That’s all it takes!

You will also have to consider the monthly fees that will be billed for the service. Many packages will only allow for one or two long distance calls each month.
This means that you will have to choose a different phone number each month than you do when you use your normal land line number. If you are only using your cell phone number one or two times per month, it doesn’t make sense to pay for a new number.
